Friday: The Sugar House Arts Festival, on Highland Drive
between Wilmington Avenue and 2100 South, starts at 10 a.m. with art booths,
live concerts, food and more. Next, the Salt Lake Symphonic Winds perform
Broadway and patriotic tunes, marches and folk music at 7:45 p.m. in Sugar House

activities from 3-10 p.m., including a pie eating contest, food, carnival games,

Friday and Saturday: This Is The Place Heritage Park, 2601
E. Sunnyside Ave., hosts "Liberty Days" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities include
pony and mini-train rides, a kids' rodeo, pie-eating contests and Candy Cannon.
On Saturday, there is a performance of "Utah Welcome Home" at 7 p.m.; tickets

Murray
Friday: "Murray Fun Days," Murray Park, 5201 S. Murray Park
Lane. The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. with a parade beginning at Fashion Place Mall,
6191 S. State St., and ending at the park. Activities such as food booths,
rides, face painting, baseball games, and hot air balloon rides take place
throughout the day. Fireworks at 10 p.m.
Magna
Thursday-Sunday: Magna's events will be at Copper Park,
8965 W. 2600 South, unless noted. A carnival is Thursday, opening at 11:30 a.m.
On Friday, there is a 5K Fun Run/Walk ($20) at 7 a.m., starting at 4100 S. 8400
West, with a pancake breakfast ($5 for adults or $3 for children) from 7-11:30
a.m. hosted by the Lion's Club after the run; the parade is at 12:30 p.m.
starting at 8560 W. 3100 South, and traveling north to Magna's Main Street;
fireworks are at 10 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the carnival fun continues at 4

Friday: Holladay hosts festivities at the park behind its
city hall, 4580 S. 2300 East. From 6:30-8:30 p.m., the band Crash Pontiacs will

Friday: Sandy City celebrates at the South Towne Promenade,
10000 S. 175 West. Festivities include a flag-raising ceremony with Radio Disney
Dancers; a performance by the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast at noon;
and a parade at 6 p.m., followed by a performance by Charlie Jenkins. Fireworks

Thursday: "Freedom Fest" starts at 6 p.m. at Granite High

West Jordan
Thursday-Saturday: The three-day Western Stampede Rodeo and
Celebration takes place at the Veterans Memorial Park, 1985 W. 7800 South, with
a rodeo at West Jordan Arena, 2200 W. 8035 South. Expect food, games, music,
rodeo rides and movie screenings at the park, with all the big rodeo action
inside the arena. Friday, the Independence Day parade starts at 10:30 a.m.,
traveling down Redwood Road from 7000 South to City Hall, 8000 S. Redwood Road.
Fireworks will be at about 10:20 p.m. each night. Park events are free; rodeo

Layton
Layton Liberty Days starts with breakfast from 6:30-10:30 a.m. at the North
Bowery at Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Drive. Cost is $5.50, $3.50 for
kids, free for children younger than 3 or $22 per family (up to five). Other
activities will take place throughout the day, including a run/walk, a parade at

Thursday-Saturday: America's Freedom Festival and Colonial
Days takes place at Center Street and University Avenue on the Utah County
Government complex and at Tabernacle Park, Provo. The Red, White and Blue
Bar-B-Q-Blaze, a competitive cook-off with entrants from around the country,
takes place on Thursday and Friday. The Grande Parade is also Friday, beginning
at 9 a.m. on University Avenue. The Stadium of Fire, featuring Miley Cyrus and
the Blue Man Group, is at 8 p.m. at LaVell Edwards Stadium, 1700 N. Canyon Road.
Saturday's activities include a car show, arts and craft booths, food, music,
